Topping off Ceremony

On a particularly warm December day, SKANSKA secured the final piece of the roof for the new Scripps Family Center for Public Media. Members of the CPR board and staff, our partners at emersion DESIGN, Skanska, Neyer Properties and supporters gathered to personally sign the wood and watch as they raised the last piece (and traditional tree) to the top of the building.

The new home of 90.9 WGUC, 91.7 WVXU and 88.5 WMUB is moving along. The weather cooperated this winter and we’re relieved to report there have been no delays in work due to weather so far. In fact, it took only 34 days to install the 498 panels for everything from the floor to the walls and roof.

Chris Hopper, the Executive Vice President and General Manager at Skanska, commented, “Beyond its rapid assembly, this structure stands as a testament to the efficiency and eco-friendliness of mass timber and highlights our commitment to creating resilient and environmentally conscious spaces.”
