Cincinnati Public Radio has joined forces with musician/creator Michael “Deuces II” Cunningham for the creation of “The Art Of…” a multimedia documentary which highlights local creatives and their process.
Deuces found his passion for music at the age of 13 and has written, performed and produced everything from rap to hip hop to a theme song for a Safeguard soap campaign. His writing has been compared to rapper and singer-songwriter Kendrick Lamar but with a Midwestern backdrop.
The three-part series of “The Art Of…” will feature short documentary videos, a longer-form audio podcast, and an original music written/performed by Deuces. All the ways to subscribe, listen, and watch can be found at CinRadio.org/TheArtOf.
The pilot episode will drop on February 7 so viewers and listeners can get a feel for “The Art Of…” and its mission to share stories of Cincinnati area creators, including musicians, authors, visual artists, changemakers and more. Episode 2 (featuring Culture Curator Lex Nycole) and Episode 3 (featuring entrepreneur Jay Banks) will preview during a special event at the Esquire Theatre in Clifton’s Gaslight District on February 15, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. An RSVP is required.
Episodes 2 and 3 will debut to the general public on February 15, 2024 and March 1, 2024 respectively.
